As a part of a Direct Trade program by bringing jobs to those in need, a women’s knitting circle was created in Ecuador by the founder of the Eden’s Rose Foundation to craft these handmade hats and glittens. The women are supplied with yarn and thread and sit in community to knit and share. Once the crafts are complete they are brought to other families who are in need of jobs to stitch in the inner fleecing. Through this process numerous men, women and families are able to learn a job skill, earn more than a fair wage for their efforts and are intrinsically responsible for the continued development of Eden’s Rose Foundation programs and projects within their communities.
